Research/inspiration

Kill your friends

This is a British comedy about drugs. The opening has a very dark/grey colour scheme which reflects the dark themes in the film. However it is clear that it is a comedy because of the narration accompanied with the fast paced music. This film has a lot of action in it, which is something I have noticed many comedy drug films have (for example pineapple express). So perhaps our opening should feature some action, maybe through flashbacks.

Almost famous

Almost famous is an indie comedy-drama. The opening scene inspired our idea very much as its credits are embedded into the props. They are being written by a character of whom we can only see the hand of. Although it is simple, the personality of the main character is introduced. Close up panning shots of their items tell the audience about what type of character it is. Also the credits being written onto lined paper in messy handwriting suggests they are in school.

Skins

Skins is as iconic british television series. It is a comedy drama that focuses on the lives of teenagers. Drugs are one of the main themes featured. The mood of the whole series is funny yet heart breaking which is what I envision our whole film to be.
